Houston Community College libraries offer students and staff interested in the topic of Genealogy this subject research guide as a place to start. Use the tabs to locate information on how to get started with your search; print and electronic books in the library collection; important database sources; libraries devoted to genealogy; helpful websites, and more.  Check back for updates to the Guide and be sure to suggest other resources you think may be helpful to others. This Guide's focus is on resources that are freely available.

While some resources may not specifically provide ancestory research, the resources provided do enable you to see what was going on in your ancestor's time period and location.

Genealogy is a great way to learn about the personal side of history!  Have fun!
