Borrowing Books

To borrow or check out a book from any HCCS library, you must have a HCCS library barcode and be a current HCCS student or employee. The barcode is found on the reverse side of the HCCS picture ID. Before you can use it, you must go to one of the campus libraries so the barcode can be added to your library record. Be sure to bring your official class schedule with you to confirm that you are currently enrolled since your library record may not be updated yet. Students, faculty and staff will need to present a picture ID when they apply for library borrowing privileges. If you have not yet obtained the HCCS picture ID, a barcoded library card can be issued.

The maximum number of books that can be borrowed from all HCCS libraries is five. The loan period is two weeks. Overdue books will cause a suspension of library borrowing privileges. It can ultimately produce a hold on your HCCS records resulting in an inability to register for classes and obtain your grades and transcripts.
