HCCS Library Cards
Anyone currently enrolled in any HCCS class can get a library card. HCCS faculty and staff are also eligible for cards. If you have an HCC Student ID card, that card should have a library barcode on the back, and it will be used in place of the library cards issued within the libraries.
To activate a library card, we require proof of identity (such as a driver's license) and, for students, proof of enrollment for the current semester.
The student library card is good for the current semester of enrollment only. It expires at the end of each semester.
Students can drop by the library at the beginning of each new semester to reactivate their library cards. (There is a fee for replacing lost or discarded cards, so don't throw your card away at the end of a semester!)
With your HCCS library card you will be able to:
- Borrow books from any HCCS library.
- Borrow materials your teachers have put on reserve.
- Login to use electronic reserves.
- Use our subscription databases from home.
- Renew your checked out materials on your own.
- Request books from any HCCS library 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
- Get a TexShare card to borrow materials from other Texas libraries.
