New! Beginner's Guide to Open Access

Since the inception of the WWW educational institutions, committed faculty, and even corporations have been providing open access to a wide variety of resources and collections. More recently the Open Educational Resources movement has gone mainstream. HCC Librarians are dedicating some of their time to curating high-quality open resources that can support the HCC curriculum.

On these pages you will find a LibGuide dedicated to the history and pedagogy of the OER movement, a LibGuide dedicated to the use and adaption of OERs to course needs, a list of open access databases to supplement resources licensed by the HCC libraries, and lists of individual OER and open access resources organized by program.
