COVID-19 Updates

Checked-out books and devices

  • Library materials and devices that were not more than four weeks overdue prior to Spring Break have been renewed until January 4th.
  • Please disregard any automated courtesy notices that you may receive via email until campuses re-open.
  • Materials will not be due until the Libraries re-open and classes resume. We will extend checkout periods as needed.
  • Please contact us via Ask A Librarian for assistance with materials that have been overdue for a month or longer.
  • Log in to your library account to check the status of your checked-out items.

Library Support for Faculty

Physical spaces

  • All HCC Library locations are closed until further notice.
  • Please do not use the book drops at this time. Most items have been renewed so you do not have to return them until the libraries re-open. Please contact us in the chat window for assistance if your items were not automatically renewed.
  • We can help you with your research via chat. Please use our Ask a Librarian service to chat in real time between the hours of 7:30AM and 8:30PM.
  • We have online instruction available via webinars and tutorials

Requested items and deliveries between campuses

  • All deliveries between campuses have been suspended until campuses and libraries re-open.
  • Unfortunately we are unable to check out devices until our libraries re-open.

TexShare Cards & Interlibrary Loan

  • No new TexShare Cards will be issued until the state of disaster announced by Governor Abbott on March 13 is lifted.
  • Loan periods will be extended for any items checked out by TexShare Card patrons indefinitely during the state of disaster.
  • FInes are temporariliy waved if accrued during this disaster.
  • Please do not return TexShare items until the state of disaster is lifted.
  • No interlibrary loan services are available until the HCC campuses re-open.

Houston Community College and the libraries closed until further notice. All library materials checked out and not long overdue have been renewed through January 25th. Please hold on to all library materials until we are able to accept them into the libraries.
