The American Civil Liberties Union of Texas is the leading civil rights organization in the Lone Star State. Since our formation in 1938, we have worked in the courts, the legislature, and through public education to protect civil rights and individual liberty.

Catholic Charities’ St. Frances Cabrini Center for Immigrant Legal Assistance provides a diverse array of immigration legal services in greater Houston. Our experienced corps of attorneys and legal professionals provide free and low-cost legal services to children who arrived in the U.S. alone, families seeking immigration assistance, crime victims, asylum seekers, and immigrants seeking to become U.S. citizens.

The Houston Area Women’s Center works to end domestic and sexual violence and supports all in building safe and healthy lives through advocacy, counseling, education, shelter and support services.

The mission of Houston Volunteer Lawyers is to provide free civil legal services to low-income people in Harris County and to promote volunteerism among lawyers.

Lone Star Legal Aid’s mission is to protect and advance the civil legal rights of the millions of Texans living in poverty in its 76 county service area by providing free advocacy, legal representation, and community education that ensures equal access to justice.
