IDEAStudio is the makerspace at Houston Community College's West Houston Institute. We support the mission of the WHI by providing a place for everyone to explore, imagine, and create using the latest technologies such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC machines alongside traditional tools like drills, saws, and welders to take ideas from concept to reality.

Alexa Azzopardi - Innovator

21st Century Outreach for Innovative Librarians
Alexa Azzopardi is a Public Services Librarian at Houston Community College - Stafford and the faculty advisor for the library’s student group, The Library Connection (a.k.a. TLC).

Dr. Garg, Dr. Singh & Dr. Sun - Innovators

Innovative Chemistry Teaching: Modelling Hybridization
Dr. Garg, Dr. Singh & Dr. Sun are faculty members from Chemistry department. The main goal of the project is to change the teaching and learning culture from traditional methods to make the experience truly student-centered, sensory, hands-on, based on human connection and peer-to-peer learning through collaboration.

Dr. Jim Ross-Nazzal is a professor in History and an advocate of OER and an author of an OER US History textbook, with HCC student content, that he uses in his US history classes

Jamal Alexander is a Digital Media Instructor and Innovation Fellow at Houston Community College. He specializes in teaching web design and programming languages in the Web Design degree plan.
