As Houston area attracts more STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) based corporations, there is an increased need for a well-trained STEM workforce.

Earth, Life & Natural Sciences Programs

HCC's Earth, Life & Natural Sciences Programs offer academic disciplines such as Agricultural Sciences, Astronomy, Biology,  Chemistry, Geology, Horticulture and Physics. With a diverse and experienced faculty,  the mission is to prepare students to continue their academic careers as they transfer to a four-year school or begin their careers in their chosen field of study.

Engineering

The HCC Engineering program makes it possible for students to complete the first two years of a four-year engineering degree at HCC and then transfer to the university of their choice to complete their engineering degree in a number of engineering fields. With the addition of two Engineering Academies, students also have an opportunity to be co-enrolled with university partners simultaneously.

Mathematics

HCC's Mathematics Program teaches the fundamental skills and technique of mathematics, to develop mathematics as a mode of thought, and to develop attitudes, tendencies and ideals inherent in the study of mathematics.
