Google Docs

Google Drive LogoGoogle Docs is quickly catching up to Word as a full-featured word-processing application.Part of the Google Drive suite, Google Docs and Google Sheets are completely free to use.

To make it even easier to get started the HCC Libraries provide current students with a Google login. We do this because students need Google logins to use the Library Chromebooks. Like the MS 365 logins, however, these logins will be disabled when you are no longer a student at HCC.

We recommend using Google Drive with your personal google login, which is also free and provides you with a personal email account and a few other perks. The account and the documents you create are yours to keep forever.

A word of caution: Before submitting your paper make sure that your professor will accept it if it has been written in Google Docs. If not, then download the Google Doc onto a USB and open in MS Word in one of the HCC Libraries to convert it to Word format. Google Docs usually translate to MS Word perfectly.
