Many HCC faculty members have been using the HCC Library online tutorial Begin Research, for many semesters now. We thank you for your support and suggestions and wanted to let you know that there is now a Canvas Commons module version of Begin Research that includes a link to the material on a Canvas Assignment page and the concluding 10-question EXIT Quiz as a Canvas Quiz. This way, you can include the material more easily as a formal assignment/quiz with the grade integrated into your Canvas grade-book
Adding Canvas Commons materials to your courses is easy to do. Below is a screenshot that shows you where Commons is found when you first login.
Canvas Commons: just choose "modules" and search for "Begin Research" and you should find the module as shown. Once you "Import Into Course," remember to customize any associated settings so that the module will work for your course. Most settings are deliberately left blank for you.
That's all there is to it! This way, you will no longer receive individual emails for each student Exit Quiz attempt.
For use outside of Canvas, please continue as you have been. Both the "original" and Canvas Commons versions will be maintained for your use. As always, feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have!
