Open Athens

Link Details

ProQuest provides links as shown below that include customer ID information (7036 or hccs-ebooks) that will direct the user to OpenAthens automatically. You will not need the OpenAthens prefix for new ProQuest links, but older links that do not include the customer ID information can use the OA prefix appended to them to reach OpenAthens.

To convert your old ProQuest links to work with OpenAthens, you would just run your older links through the OpenAthens Link Generator to apply the prefix and remove the older information from our previous login method.

With ProQuest you just need to include the accountid parameter at the end. For ProQuest eBooks, you need to have our organization ID, hccs-ebooks included in the link.

NOTE - ProQuest links include WAM information if copied before Go-Live day. Use the converter to remove this info. and add the prefix. After Go-Live, you should be able to use these permalinks as is.

Our account id is 7036 or hccs-ebooks for EBook Central
