Northline Library

Research Support

Research guides are offered by program, subject, course, and also for several learning skill objectives. These guides can assist in your coursework by providing a list of best databases and resources to use for your topic. We also have Style Guides (MLA, APA, Chicago) on how to cite your work.
If you need assistance with starting your research, we have a tutorial specifically for beginning research. Some professors require their students to complete the tutorial and Exit Quiz. You will receive an emailed score at the email address you provide.

Schedule Research Help
Students (and employees) can request a research consultation appointment with Northline librarians for individualized research guidance, in-person or online.

Northline Library Research Consultation Request

A minimum of 72-hours notice is recommended, when possible.

Databases

HCC Libraries provide access to over 275 research databases to assist with our patrons' research needs for class projects or assignments. Our librarians can help you narrow down your research topics, find resources in our databases, and correctly cite your sources.
If you do not know the best database to use for your search, you can use our Eagle Library Search from the library's homepage to search over 100 databases, the Library Catalog, and other resources at once.
