Northline Library

There are over 40 computers available for use in the library's Reference area. Our library instruction lab may be made available for general use during high traffic times when classes, events, and webinars are not scheduled.

Computer Use: Your HCC W # (or staff/faculty login) will provide you access to our computers if you are currently registered for a class. Community members, future students, and former students may receive a temporary guest pass that will allow computer access for two hours. A photo ID must be provided for guest access.

Scanning: Color scanning is available at no charge to all HCC students and employees. Files are automatically transmitted to HCC email accounts as .PDFs. Saving to a USB directly from the printer is an option, but not always reliable.

Copying and Printing: Black & white or color printing is available from our public computers. Black and white copies are 10 cents and color copies are 25 cents per page. The equipment counts page-faces, not sheets, thus there is no cost difference for single versus double-sided printing. Printing credit can be loaded via credit card through Eagle Print online, or via cash pay station in the library. Any unused funds will remain in the user's EaglePrint account until depleted. Please notify our staff if there is an issue with your added funds. Printing from a USB drive directly at the printer is an option, but not always reliable.

WiFi Hotspots: WiFi hotspots are available for check-out to currently registered HCC students. Visit the Library Hotspots page for more information and contact library staff directly for availability. Employees must contact HCC I.T. at 713.718.8800 for their work-related technology needs. Our inventory is for student-use only.

Laptops and Chromebooks (incl. charging cables): HCC libraries own more than 1500 Dell Laptops/Chromebooks for currently registered HCC students to check out and use, either at home or on campus.
