Fiction Book Review

“Libraries were full of ideas—perhaps the most dangerous and powerful of all weapons.”

Throne of Glass is a young-adult high fantasy that features Celaena, an 18-year-old assassin trying to regain her freedom after she was sentenced slave herself in the salt mines of Endovier. However, an opportunity to gain her freedom was presented before her—to enter a competition, emerge the victor, and then work for the king as his personal assassin.
This book is the first book to an epic adventure by best-selling author Sarah J Maas. What I really liked about this book is that we have a strong female main character that is still showing her love towards feminine things; pretty dresses, make up, her hair. Oh, and chocolate cake! Every chance she gets. She is very likeable, and she has common sense. The plot is not shallow and the twists left me staring at the wall for a whole minute.
Adventure, romance (ahem!), and action deliciously packed in the whole series. I read the whole book in a day and I do not regret it. Celeana’s sassiness will hook you from the first page and will definitely make you turn the pages until midnight (so I suggest starting the book while the sun is still shining bright).
