  • We no longer mark items "Lost". We only mark them "Lost and Paid" when they have been paid for.
  • When a student has lost a book, always make sure to add the library hold in Student Admin if it is not already there as an overdue.
  • When Chromebooks and netbooks are claimed to have been lost or stolen do NOT follow this procedrue. Leave the item in Overdue status.
  • None of the HCC Libraries take payments at this time.

Workflow

When a student needs to pay for an item:

  1. Check their Sierra record to make sure that the item is still checked out to them.
  2. They go to the cashier to pay.
  3. They bring the receipt to the library.
  4. Any full-time library staff or faculty can then:
    • Release the service indicator and
    • Do the Lost and Paid in Sierra.
  5. Part-time library faculty and staff should leave the returned items on the desk with a note for the LAs who work the next day. If it is urgent then the student can contact Angela or you may contact your library director.
