Library Instruction Options for Your Students!

As an HCC instructor, you have a variety of methods and resources to take advantage of when library/information literacy needs arise.

Our latest instructional offering is an exciting one! A team of HCC Librarians is now facilitating live online instruction webinars for your students!
Several different sessions are currently offered throughout the semester -  topics may include, General Career Research, Fake News, MLA, APA, and Chicago Style Help and Using HCC Library Databases to Find Journal Articles and more. Each one-time session lasts about 60 to 90 minutes and is a chance for your students to get to know the HCC libraries and librarians. Attendance is taken and we can notify you of a student's attendance if this information is given at registration.

Library Instruction for Your Class

We can meet with your class in-person or virtually! You can schedule an instruction session by submitting the Instruction Request form linked by each library location at - https://library.hccs.edu/locations 

Just fill out the circled form beneath your library location as shown below -

Begin Research

Begin Research is a set of online tutorials that students can work through in order to gain library and information literacy skills. The modules contain self-check progress quizzes and exercises and a scored, 5-question Exit Quiz. If a student includes instructor name when registering for the Exit Quiz and scores an 80% or above, that instructor will receive an email with the student's name and completion information.
