Subject

You can find additional resources for poetry at the bottom of the ENGL 1301 / 1302 page in a smaller tab labeled, "Poetry."

For information about avoiding plagiarism and how to paraphrase and summarize, go to the Avoiding Plagiarism and How to Cite subject tab.

The websites we post are to help you, the student.  If you encounter a link that is no longer active (for example, some sites change their addresses), please, contact the Upwsing LibGuide's administrator directly so she can replace it:  ioanna.panos@hccs.edu.  To better serve you, be as precise as possible about the name of the link and where you found it.  **To outside entities, no soliciting links or services from your business or organization.  The purpose of our resource center is to help our students with their coursework.  We do not help companies or organizations advertise their services.**

Handouts - General

These handouts address some common topics and issues in sophomore literature courses.

Handouts - Elements of Literature

These handouts explain elements of literature, in part by using the HCC EduTube videos about Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.  Although you do not need to watch the videos, they can help you understand the concepts in these handouts.

HCC's EduTube - "Snow White" and the Elements of Fiction

Using the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the videos' creator helps students understand the various elements of fiction. These clips have been so helpful for students that we have put them in their own section.
