Follow this link for step-by-step directions:

Things to Think About:

  • A good place to get large, colored paperclips is The Dollar Tree.
  • While you can use 1/8 inch ribbon and tie it in knots, 3/8 inch ribbon works better.
  • If you use 3/8 inch ribbon, you can layer two ribbons for a different look.

Origami Corner Bookmarks – Easy way to introduce origami – 3 dimensional thinking, following directions

Things to think about

  • Origami paper is thinner than copy paper and easier to fold, and because origami paper is often decorated, you can fold the bookmark, and you’re done.
  • If you use color copy paper, students can decorate their bookmarks into monsters and animals, or give them colored pencils and let them draw.
  • If you use copy paper, it must be precut into squares.  Suggested size is 8”x8”.

Alternatives
There are so many different ways to do bookmarks and can be as simple as doing an Internet search for free bookmarks, running them off, and giving students materials to color them.
